This is one of those movies that you see trailers for and somehow completely forget about. When a friend brought the DVD over, I had no idea who was in the movie or really what it was about. Yet the movie starred Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz in a beautiful story with quite possible the most impactful direction and cinemaphotography I've seen in quite some time. At first you're just in awe from Darren Arnofsky's(PI, Requiem for a Dream) direction and visuals, but as time goes on you become entrapped by the story. The plot is basically three coinciding stories that span over a thousand years. To me it's about the search for eternal life and lasting love, but maybe I missed the real plot completely. Who knows? If you've never seen this, get it in your DVD player, and discover your own meaning.
