I've always been a fan of this movie. I am a huge Bill Murray fan and have grown to love Wes Anderson movies. Not seeing the movie on DVD in a few years was too long. I popped it in and watched it with the commentary on for the first time. I started to notice, take in, and gain a whole new experience from the movie. Maybe I've matured or maybe my tastes in movies have changed, but I saw something fresh with this movie. The direction is amazing and the characters are stronger than I remembered. Hearing Wes Anderson and Noah Baumbach discuss the story development and the character archs was pretty enlightening and made for one of the better commentaries I've watched. I still stand by the fact that I liked The Darjeeling Limited more. To me that movie had a better and deeper story, but that's saying a lot because Life Aquatic is a great movie. If you're a fan of good films, then this one you should already own. If you do own it, watch it again. I'm sure you'll take something new from it each time.
