This past Saturday I went out to the midnight showing of the new vampire movie. I've always had a huge soft spot for vampire movies, so this was a rare theatre visit to see a horror movie. First off, I really enjoyed this movie but the vampires sucked. It's weird to say that I liked a vampire movie, but hated the vampires. To me a vampire should be sophisticated and high class. These vampires looked like euro-trash, sounded like aliens (no English at all), and moped around like zombies. The movie and acting itself rocked. I enjoyed how it started off feeling like a Walker Texas Ranger episode and then turned into something very dark. The direction rocked. David Slade, the guy who penned and directed "Hard Candy", did an awesome job. But yeah, check this movie out. My only complaint is the vampires, but the rest of the movie (acting,direction,story) make up for it.
