I'm starting to believe the crowd shots and reactions are fake or at least "free pass" people. It's simply not scary at all. It's lame. I went into it looking forward to having the same reactions and "frightful experience" that the scared people in the crowd had. No luck at all. It's "Blair Witch" in a house but not even half as good. That's being said and I'm not even a "Blair Witch" fan. It wouldn't of been a bad "FearNet" movie or something less "pushed", but their marketing is deceptive as fuck. There was no part that made me jump or care. The personalities were annoying. The girl was whiney and the guy was a douche bag. This made it hard to care about the drama they were dealing with. The story was simply "oh no! The house is haunted! Let's try some ‘Home Alone' shit and see what happens". I respect what they did. It's a low budget movie and it's made it farther than 99% of the independent movies out there. I think since the video quality is so low they went with "crowd reactions" to confuse the customer on the actual quality. This is a movie that's not nearly as good as a lot of the low budget horror movie's I've seen, but it's making millions because we've all been convinced that it's "great". We've been hosed, folks. Don't pay to see this. Not at the theatre, not on DVD, and not on PPV. Wait for it to show up on cable when you have nothing at all to do. Horrible.
