BY MIKEY MIGO
I recently watched a movie that I had knew nothing about before popping it in. It was an American Pie looking comedy, "Cougar Club". It ended up being a very entertaining hour and a half and exactly what I expected, yet not. It really wasn't like an American Pie so much, but like a good old 80's comedy with National Lampoon flavor mixed in for good measure. Jason Jurman is the lead actor and has a young John Cusack quality that made you root for him despite him basically pimping older women into voluntary prostitution. The cast of Joe Mantega, Faye Dunaway, Carrie Fisher, Kaley Cuoco, and the rest of the cast worked perfectly in this script. Warren Kole did a fine job with the "Hogan"/"troublemaker friend" role. He didn't go all "Stiffler" on us and had his own thing going. Sure it was hokey and cheesy, but that's what you want with a comedy like this. If you're a fan of tongue-in-cheek comedies, check this one out. It was a welcomed surprise.
