It's been at least five years since I remember watching this 1994 hip hop mockumentary. Before that I only remember seeing it like maybe three times. Each time I've watched it, I've laughed and been amazed that this film is not as popular as it should be. If a movie can be considered a "cult classic" then this movie should get that status. The early 90's hip hop/gangsta rap scene was ridiculous in retrospect, but had a huge impact on culture. Rusty Cundieff exposes just how ridiculous it was with songs like "Booty Juice", "Fuck the Security Guards", "Granny Says Kick Yo Ass", and "My Peanuts". The movie gets a lot of flack because of CB4 coming out around the same time and having a similar storyline and idea, but as much as I love Rock's creation this movie has more heart, humor, and conscious of what it's mocking. If you're a fan of laughing, 90's rap, or just curious about it... SEE IT. Find it, watch it, and tell your friends. I'm not sure how a sequel would work, but dammit I want one now.
