Off the bat I’m a little mad at this movie. I type in the word “Hesher” into Wikipedia and I get a random old EP by NICKELBACK. Yes, NICKELBACK. The movie uses a Metallica looking font and is supposed to be bad ass, but shares a name with a “rare” EP by NICKELBACK. Not cool. I’m quick forgiving though as this trailer looks great. Just when I thought it gave too much away it throws stuff at us that makes me feel like I still don’t know what this one is about. This looks great. It’s a dark dramady with a great cast. For my own personal tastes, this is exactly what I look for in a movie. We have Joseph Gordon-Levitt doing some awesomeness as a long haired metal head slacker bum type. He seems all about anarchy and seems to blow a lot of shit up for no reason. He meets a little kid, whose life is all screwed up because his dad is having hell dealing with the loss of his mother. The dad, Rainn FN’ Wilson, doing a dramatic and deep role sounds good to me. But yeah, he meets the kid and I’m almost convinced by the trailer that this may end up being one of those “he’s my imaginary friend” things. I REALLY hope not. Then to top all of this off, I’m well over two hundred words into this ramble and I haven’t even mentioned Natalie Portman! Natalie Portman plays a nerdy and odd grocery clerk and somehow gets intertwined with the story. I don’t know much about what’s going on, but to see more of what I saw in the trailer is definitely on my “To Do” list. The moment I get a chance to watch this movie, I’m going to take it. I don’t know how anyone a fan of movies could see the trailer and NOT want to see the movie. I don’t think it’s possible.
