Money in the Bank was the best Pay Per View I’ve seen in a long time. I’m not even saying that because of the electric main event either, but we’ll get to that. The two Money in the Bank matches were great. That opening Smackdown match was insane. Sheamus’s killer powerbomb on Sin Cara, Justin Gabriel’s tighter than hell 450, Sheamus’s bouncing thud-bump on the ladder, Cody kneeing everyone in the face, and Daniel Bryan winning made it one of my favorite Money in the Bank matches. Mark Henry not only beat Big Show, but he beat the hell out of him. I’ve always been a fan of Mark Henry. I’ve been explicit with how much I appreciate his work and am a fan. Most of my friends have thought I was joking about it or just being weird, but THIS is the potential I’ve always seen in him. I really dug the RAW Money in the Bank match too. A lot of people rate it over the Smackdown one, but I’m not buying it. It was a great match, but the train wreck effect of it made it so cool. I liked Miz’s comeback tease, but other than that it was train wreck city. The finish felt weird and Rey lost his mask with no real build up or pay off. My only real complaint is that Christian is now a two time champion. He is so disposable. He won the belt because Edge left a huge gap there. He held it for like two days and then lost it. Now he wins it via nut shot? C’mon. I like Christian as a midcarder, but as a main eventer I have a negative feel for him. Not a “boo! You’re a bad guy!”, but more so an “I’m going to skip this segment and/or match”. The main event was insane! It was perfectly done. I am not really a fan of either guy. I hate watching Cena. His presence makes me not enjoy wrestling. Punk is just a douche, always has been and always will be. I find him overrated. Hell, I think the “shoot” he did on RAW a few weeks ago was a bit overrated as well. People are quick to call him the second coming, but he’s Raven in the right place at the right time. The promos are similar, but a little more whiney. The wrestling, since being on WWE, is all strikes and Japanese crap. You know why he doesn’t throw punches? Because he can’t! Anyway, the match was really freakin’ good! Punk carried Cena to a really solid match. It was decent for the first twenty minutes, but really didn’t pick up until all the near falls at the end. The finish was solid as hell. Everyone was expecting what happened, but we forget all of that. A zillion theories and arm-chair bookers said “blah blah blah Chicago Screw Job” and “blah blah blah Del Rio will cash in”. Both were teased, but unexpected twists were put on each of them. The crowd and atmosphere is what made this match. If we’re going by THAT, then this match was great. The Rosemont, Illinois crowd was HOT. Vince should have had all the lower card guys go out to the doors at the end of the show with a box of money. Each fan should have been paid for making this PPV so freakin’ memorable. There was at one In Your House from years ago called “Canadian Stampede”. I don’t remember much about that match, but I remember the crowd making it electric. That’s much of the same here. Pretty much a great show all around. Thank you, Rosemont!
