BY MIKEY MIGO
This looked funny. The trailer and concept kind of reminded me of a dark comedy version of “9 to 5” with dudes instead of chicks. The cast is three dudes who hate their bosses. They get fed up and decide they want to KILL them. Hilarity ensues. Jason Bateman’s boss is a jerky Kevin Spacey, Jason Sudeikis has to deal with a comb-over cokehead played awesomely by Colin Farrell, and Charlie Day is being sexually harassed by an overly sexy Jennifer Anniston. The three friends get screwed over to the point they want to kill their bosses. They got to Jamie Foxx at a bar and he screws them over. I’ve officially come to terms that if Jamie Foxx is in a movie that I’m going to like it less. The same thing happened with “Due Date” last year. There is just something smug and hack about him that bothers me. He wasn’t in it long enough to ruin the movie though. The movie was decent enough. It’s raunchy and has some funny spots. I laughed most at Charlie Day. It’s awesome to see him get some bigger roles. He’s hilarious on “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia”, but that show sadly can’t last forever. It’s awesome to know he’ll be out there still making us laugh once it’s over. I also enjoyed Jennifer Anniston’s raunchy role. I’m a heterosexual male so of course I would. I got a kick out of seeing Colin Farrell do a weird character like that. I have a feeling they were expecting the same response that Tom Cruise got after his cameo role in “Tropic Thunder”. Bateman, Sudeikis, Spacy, and Foxx all play the same characters as we’ve seen in everything else they’ve done. This movie takes all the expected turns and twists. It’s not a bad movie at all. It’s funny and enjoyable. I’d truly watch it again, but not for awhile. It’s a solid late afternoon movie to watch on the weekend. Nothing more. B
