BY MIKEY MIGO
I heard about this movie awhile ago. For some reason I thought the characters “Tucker & Dale” were already out there in some form or another. I saw the trailer and wasn’t too impressed. I like Alan Tudyk a lot and Tyler Labine has his moments. I like horror comedies too. Still, the movie seemed too simple. It didn’t look bad per-sae, but it just didn’t seem like anything to get all that excited about. The movie is about Tucker and Dale, two crazy hillbillies who are staying at a cabin in the woods. Some pretty preppy teens show up and see them. The teens start to convince themselves the rednecks are evil killers. Tons of misunderstandings and attempted hilarity ensues. One of the teens was Katrina Bowden, the hot blond from 30 Rock. There were some funny parts to this movie. The performances were charming and funny, the direction was solid, and it’s a well crafted movie. It just didn’t do it for me. I understood the jokes and the plot, but it didn’t feel right. The flow of the movie was just really off. It’s not a bad movie at all. If you’re into these kinds of things go for it. It’s easily not the worst movie I’ve seen all year. It’s just not that great. This is a movie that I’ll forget about completely in like three days. It’s amusing enough though. C
