Episode: 10 Match: 5
Tristin Hayze vs. Acid Jaz
Event: WRECKAGE 2003
Date: 6/21/03
Duration: 15:13
(*Audio Disclaimer: The audio is jacked up. It’s probably best to watch it with the audio up to a lower level. If you adjust a little, it works and you can still hear some commentary, the crowd, and the bump sounds. This is a horror of dealing with old VHS tapes. I suppose it’s good that I’m transferring these over to some form of digital copy before these tapes turn to ash or something. Sorry about that, but it’s still definitely worth checking out. *)
I remember being very excited about this match once it was booked. Tristin Hayze was there from the start. He saw the ups and downs and downs of MEW and busted ass through all of it. I’m fairly certain he is one of three or so people who were on every show from 01 to 04. He had a weird reputation at start, but I always enjoyed his work and his company. He could be offensive or goofy all day, but his heart is bigger than Coco’s ass. He was really just starting to come into his own at this point. For him to go one on one with Acid Jaz was awesome. Jaz was from Windy City Pro Wrestling in Chicago. It’s probably the most renowned wrestling company in the Chicagoland. At least, it was. Jaz was a well respected light weight and was a damn good worker. These two tore it down at this show. It wasn’t even the semi-main event of the show. These two beat the hell out of each other and put out what easily could have been a main event by MEW standards and by other company’s standards. In my time going through these old matches, this one surprised me the most. I don’t want to ramble too much about it. Just watch it and enjoy!
