I suppose it’s good that I’m transferring these over to some form of digital copy before these tapes turn to ash or something. Sorry about that, but it’s still definitely worth checking out. *)
These two guys trained most of MEW’s mainstays. I can easily admit that without Kenny Courageous MEW would not have happened. Well, it might have happened but it would have been REALLY bad. He took it upon himself to train a few groups of backyard wrestlers how to legitimately wrestle. The MEW “kids” were all green as hell, but they WERE trained. Sloppy? Spotty? Sucky? All three at times, but still. He didn’t HAVE to do anything. He sure as hell didn’t get paid. He was THE vet of our misfit family. In 2011, 27 year old man retrospect, he REALLY should have had the strap in 2001 or in the very least working the main events. Noah was around a lot too. He was brutally stiff in the ring, but one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. I always enjoyed watching him perform and hanging out with him. His car smelt like Muppet Babies. But seriously, this was obviously not the first time these two brothers wrestled. It was a solid back and forth match up until PT Hustla came out. The plan was that PT was going to unite the vets of MEW together. The next show, Wrestlefest 2 was supposed to be Kenny, Noah, and PT taking on Trent Lexington, Jeff Canaday, and Scott Powers. Of course this didn’t happen. Schedules didn’t work out, no shows happened, injuries, whatever. It ended up being Lexington, Canaday, and Powers taking on Kenny, GQ, and Willie Richardson. It ended up being one of my all time favorite matches. I would have loved PT and Noah to be around more, but I have no complaints how it turned out.
