In this match we have Super Villains taking on Vanilla Shakes. I really liked this match up at the time. The Vanilla Shakes were awesome to work with, but at the time we just couldn’t afford any more outside talent to keep them. None of the MEW-Tang originals ever really got paid and it was rough to have to pay the Chicago guys knowing they weren’t the ones doing all the work, passing out promo, and getting people to come out. The objective was always to get things rolling strong enough for everyone to get paid and everyone to get their share of the spotlight. I’m confident that those who stuck it out did get their spotlight, but sadly none of us made any money. Matches like this are fun to look back on. We got to spotlight the best MEW has to offer against one of the better new teams at the time. Overall, this is probably one of the more solid matches of the tournament. I think this might have been Lexington and Canaday’s first time teaming up in a 2 on 2 Tag Match in MEW and I know for sure this was Colette Stafford’s first on-camera show. Since day one she was in the back and helping out anyway possible. She wanted on the show and with The Super Villains the whole collective chemistry was just about perfect.
