This match was a cross roads. It was the last real time The Establishment would be together on any show and the first time Wet-N-Wild joined forces. The show before this one, WRESTLEFEST 2, saw Tank lose his Maniak Title and Pierce, Hiztory, Wylde and Wendell Sunshine kill themselves in a Ladder Match. It brought out mutual respect between Peirce and Hiztory and they went on to be one of the most loved Tag Teams in the company’s history. Tank and Wylde would go on to feud themselves as Tank would become a pretty popular face towards the end of MEW’s run. And of course, we have THE MAN Jazon Lea as the ref. This is far from the best match in the tournament, but I’m pretty sure it’s not the worst. It got the job done, and advanced what we had planned… that’s a plus.
