The thing about the Maniak Title was that we could do whatever we wanted with it. With Sabbath having Morganna and “The Damned” always with him, a lot of his defenses were in multi-person matches. Be it tag team, 6 man tag, or even 8 man tag the Maniak Title saw a lot of contenders come for it. In this one we see Sabbath defend with Morganna and the one time appearance of Julian The Warlock in MEW against Alto, Reaper, and I believe what may have been Whipme’s last MEW show. It’s not a bad little match. Outside of Julian, the other five people in this match ended up worked against each other quite often as the last half dozen or so MEW shows wound down. Then the match just goes haywire. Julian kills Alto on the outside. Whipme gets the win over Morganna in “con-tra-vers-al fashion”. This was supposed to set up two matches. Whipme vs. Morganna, which ended up being where Pink Taco debuted, and Alto/Reaper vs. Sabbath/JTW which ended up being the debut of “Dimension”. At least I think that’s how it all was supposed to go. I’m having enough trouble remembering how it actually went.
