I suppose it’s good that I’m transferring these over to some form of digital copy before these tapes turn to ash or something. Sorry about that, but it’s still definitely worth checking out. *)
Pardon the camera work here, but I still really enjoyed this match. Kaleb Pierce really didn’t get a chance to run with the belt due to hiatus and randomness. He was just on the verge of becoming a face in MEW and Wendell was right there. Wendell Sunshine was clearly one of the most popular wrestlers on the shows. He got his much deserved first and sadly only MEW belt here. He and Pierce worked really well together. Wendell gets the win after a pretty good match. They shake hands at the end, but it leads to the Four-Way North American Title Ladder Match at Wrestlefest 2. Without a doubt one of the most entertaining matches of MEW’s back catalog. Check that one out, but first take in this 2002 gem.
