Episode: 16 Match: 4
Adam Evans/Johnny Mac vs. The Spring Break Allstars
Event: POWERTRIP
Date: 04/26/02
Duration: 15:14
(*Audio Disclaimer: The audio is jacked up. It’s probably best to watch it with the audio up to a lower level. If you adjust a little, it works and you can still hear some commentary, the crowd, and the bump sounds. This is a horror of dealing with old VHS tapes. I suppose it’s good that I’m transferring these over to some form of digital copy before these tapes turn to ash or something. Sorry about that, but it’s still definitely worth checking out. *)
This was a pretty decent match, but it was just a little too long. I didn’t get bored or anything with watching it but it’s placement on the card was a dark match. Adam Evans was really young when he wrestled for MEW, but his mom was always there supporting him and signing off on any waivers. The kid was talented as hell and off to a great start at this point. He was only in MEW for a short period before moving on to bigger and better. Also having a short stay was the Spring Break Allstars. Doug Punke and Benny Roberts were a fun tag team. I don’t think they continued to wrestle for much longer. I certainly would have booked them again. Meanwhile, the ring general here was Johnny Mac. Mac was only two or three matches into his MEW run but was still doing very good. He was a solid hand to have around at this time.
